FAQs
It’s important to address issues with your vehicle as soon as they arise. To help you take the best care of your vehicle and avoid problems we have provided the answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you don’t see what you’re looking for please contact us today.
How often should I rotate my tires?
Ideally, you should aim to change the direction your tires are facing every 5,000 to 7,500 miles.
How much extra fuel does using the A/C consume?
Fuel economy is important to most drivers and a lot of people want to know how much extra fuel the A/C is using. Fuel economy will vary from one vehicle to the next and based on the demands of the system. If you are getting your vehicle’s air conditioning system to work harder than it is designed to operate you will notice your fuel economy diminish anywhere from 1-2 mpg and possibly up to 4 mpg.
<br /> Is it harmful to allow my automobile to idle for an extended time?
Idling is not a good way to save gas. Actually, if you are stopped for more than 30 seconds (railroad crossing, or a light that just seems to take forever to change) it is better to turn off your engine. It takes far less fuel to restart your vehicle than it does to keep your engine idling. When you are caught in a situation that will be a long delay, shut your car off and save money on gas and help to cut down on carbon emissions!
Should I get my car inspected before a long trip?
The last thing anyone wants on a road trip is to have something go wrong with their vehicle. To have your car break down in a strange place can be quite a harrowing experience. A great way to avoid this from happening to you is to have your car take a quick check with a professional mechanic prior to your trip. A competent mechanic will be able to inspect your vehicle quickly and provide you with a good idea of your tires, brakes, battery, engine fluids, lights, and wipers. All of these are important to ensure that your car is ready to roll before you leave.
