FAQs
Don’t let an issue with your vehicle wait – take care of it immediately. In an effort to help you better care for your vehicle and prevent problems, we’ve provided answers to some of our most frequently asked questions below. If you have a question that is not answered, please don’t hesitate to contact us today.
How often should I get an oil change?
Pyle Automotive’s technicians recommend that drivers get their oil changed every 3,000 to 7,000 miles or every three months. However, the best way to know when your next oil change is due is to reference your owner’s manual, which will tell you the manufacturer’s recommended oil change interval for your make and model. Pyle Automotive is here to make vehicle ownership easy and convenient for you with reliable oil changes.
How often should I check my vehicle's fluid levels?
Fluids other than your engine oil are also very important to your vehicle’s health. Transmission fluid, brake fluid, engine coolant, and power-steering fluid are just a few of the examples. Factors that can influence fluid levels include how often you drive, but also extreme temperatures. Auto service specialists recommend drivers to check their vehicle’s fluid levels regularly. At Pyle Automotive, we recommend either having these fluids checked at the time of your oil change or at least once a month or every other month.
How often should I change the air filter?
In a typical vehicle, there are two filters. One is for the engine, the other for the cabin. Air filters can accumulate dust and debris, which can prevent airflow and the engine’s ability to exhaust hot air. When your air filter needs to be changed can depend on a number of factors, but a general rule of thumb is every 30,000 miles.
How often should I replace my vehicle's brake pads?
Brake pads usually begin to wear out somewhere between 20,000- and 30,000-miles on average. Telltale signs that they are in need of replacement are a high-pitched screeching or grinding sound when braking and your vehicle taking longer than normal to stop.
How often should I replace my battery?
The average battery life is about three to five years. However, a battery’s lifespan can be shortened due to outside forces, such as extremely hot or cold temperatures. As a vehicle owner, it is important to be aware of the signs your battery is losing its charge. A good sign to know your battery needs replacing is when headlights and dashboard lights start to dim, and your vehicle has trouble starting.
