FAQs
It’s never a good idea to neglect your vehicle problems. To help you better maintain your vehicle and prevent problems from happening, we’ve compiled a list of answers to our most commonly asked questions. If you don’t see the answer to your question, don’t hesitate to give us a call today.
How often should I change my oil?
Pyle Automotive experts recommend oil changes every 3,000 to 7,000 miles or every three months. It’s also a good idea to always check your owner’s manual for your recommended oil change interval. Pyle Automotive is your best choice for keeping your vehicle running smoothly, with our dependable oil change services.
How often should I check my fluid levels?
In addition to your engine oil, there are a variety of fluids that are important to your vehicle’s health. Some examples are transmission fluid, brake fluid, engine coolant, and power-steering fluid. Their levels can be influenced not only by how often you drive but extreme temperatures as well. Fluid levels should be checked regularly. At Pyle Automotive, we recommend checking during your oil change, or at least once a month or every other month.
How often should I change my air filter?
Typically, there are two filters in a vehicle. One is for the engine and the other is for the cabin. A dirty filter can prevent airflow and limit the engine’s ability to expend hot air. How often you need to change air filter will vary but the conventional timeframe is about 30,000 miles.
How often should I change my brake pads?
On average, brake pads begin to wear out around 20,000- to 30,000-miles. Indicators of worn brake pads include a high-pitched screeching or grinding noise when braking, and longer than normal stopping distances.
How often should I change my battery?
The standard battery is good for an average of three to five years. However, there are external factors that can speed up this timeline. Extreme hot and cold temperatures play a big role in the amount of power a battery produces. As a vehicle owner, it’s important to be aware of signs that could show a decline in battery power. Dimming headlights and dashboard lights are common signs that it might be time to replace your battery. Another sign is having difficulty with your vehicle starting.
